Yeah, being back in the still sort of land of oil does have some benefits.

I keep my heating on full blast in the Autumn and Winter months and certainly don't worry about the cost. My fixed rate deal expires today and I will barely notice the doubling of my energy bill from tomorrow as it's all peanuts to someone on a six figure salary.

Probably spend8ng more than ever when shopping.

Would definitely change if I'm told to go back to the office though, as I haven't bothered to step foot in the place since March 2020 and won't until asked which is looking unlikely thankfully.

Train savings are 350 a month and 500 all in with theissus only going in twice a week now, so covid was an absolute dream for me.

Our prices are rising a bit but they were silly high to begin with.

That said gas has skyrocketed to 1.75/litre (after the provincial government dropped a 12c tax as well) which still better than many places. Still not fun if you need to drive over 100 miles a day.

“well I just haven’t got the time to exercise”

“we’l you’ve got fucking time to eat less”

This might help the obesity crises although biscuits are still incredibly cheap.

I once heard a fella say being rich is turning on the heating and not worrying about the cost !!
You can still buy a large chicken for under £4 in Aldi spuds are cheap as chips ;-) a bag of frozen veg under a quid so just those ingredients would feed me and Mrs Ted for several days.

If you know how to cook then you know how to survive anything... it's as simple as that.

However, I do have sympathy for those on very low incomes who through no fault of their own are struggling to make ends meet.

You can't always avoid the legacy of your DNA and if your parents are wrong'uns - then you're doubly fucked

I think the general consensus is anything that goes wrong across the entire planet can be linked back to BREXIT.

COVID, George Floyd, the war in Ukraine, food prices hikes across the planet. You name it, BREXIT has done it.

A weekly food shop is far more expensive here in Italy than the UK. Same with gas and electric.

A lot of angst on here today. At least you wont all be so fat in a few years, there's the upside.

Definitely noticed the price of a lot of things has gone up considerably in the last month or two. Not impacted me yet but it’s noticeable and I am sure a lot of people are feeling the pinch for sure.

Nothing says "it doesn't affect me" more than brining Brexit into a thread it has nothing to do with.
